Daycare is an excellent way to give dogs the socialization and exercise to meet their needs. Daycare helps dogs learn appropriate interactions with humans and other dogs. Dogs also gain lots of exercise by playing with other dogs, toys, &/ or staff. This allows dogs to stimulate both mind and body. Austin Dogtown gives dogs a chance to be part of a “pack” in a safe, monitored environment when their owners are not around.

Dogs come to daycare to have fun, but in order to maintain a safe environment, they also need to play by the rules that we set for them. At Dogtown, we believe that it is important for dogs to have structure in their playtime and not think that they can do what they want, when they want and how they want. Through the use of basic command practice and positive reinforcement methods, the dogs learn that good behavior brings good rewards (play, treats, verbal and physical praise). We have found that when using positive reinforcement methods, the dogs actually want to learn and are eager to please us. While appropriate behaviors are reinforced, inappropriate behaviors are disciplined through the use of time outs or loss of play. By consistently applying these techniques, we can help ensure that every dog has a fun and safe experience while at daycare.

Just like people, dogs come in all shapes, sizes and personalities. We accommodate the various dog personalities by engaging them in activities and separating them into our playrooms that match their interests. In one room, it is typical to see the larger, more active dogs with a ball in their mouth, running back and forth, playing fetch. Others may enjoy a game of chase, racing around our playing structures &/or jumping from spot to spot. While the older, mellow dogs, who just enjoy being petted or brushed, may be ‘chilling out’ in a room of their own. And the smaller guys have a room of their own to play in without the worries of a big paw stopping them in their tracks.

Austin Dogtown also has great outdoor accommodations – more than 1,500 sq ft of fenced-in space and endless green area for walks, pottying and playtime directly surrounding our facility.

PRICING- Effective October 1st, 2011 for new customers/ November 1st, 2011 for current customers

• Single Day - $24/ 1st dog - $22/ add'l dogs from same family
• 10 Day Package - $220 ($22/day/dog)
• 20 Day Package - $400 ($20/day/dog)

Initial "evaluation day" of daycare required before starting a regular daycare routine.  A full report of your dog's day will be given upon pickup, at which time additional daycare days can be scheduled. There is $15 charge for the eval day.

Cancellation Policy -  Must receive notification of canceling a daycare reservation by noon the preceding day to avoid a charge.  Any notice after noon will result in a $15 charge.  No notice will result in a $24 charge (or use of day pass from pre-purchased package).  All customers must have a credit card on file to hold a reservation (form to be filled out with enrollment paperwork)- payment can still be made via cash, check, or different credit card at time of visit, but card will be charged in case of cancellation outside of the stated time frame.
