What is dog day care?
Daycare for your dog is a great way to keep your dog exercised, entertained and engaged while you're away. Whether you work long hours or you're boarding your dog at Austin Dogtown, we offer a daycare program with interactive games that allows your dog to socialize in a safe, fun environment. We will match your dog with other dogs in a regular playgroup based on size, temperament and personality.
What happens if I cannot drop-off or pick-up my dog during Dogtown business hours?
Not a problem! Special arrangements can always be made to meet our clients’ needs, although additional costs will apply. Open for boarding 365 days a year – Additional charges will apply for pick-up or drop-off on holidays.
What will my dog do all day?
We schedule time for fun and relaxation throughout the day to keep your dog's energy in balance. Guests of Austin Dogtown spend the day making friends, playing games, fetching toys, learning new tricks, chasing balls and snacking on treats. Around early afternoon, everyone takes a break for a nap…and then it’s back to playing with other dogs – matched by size, temperament and personality. At Dogtown, it’s a dog's world – after all, with we believe in letting dogs be dogs!
Do you provide treats for daycare & boarding dogs?
Only the best treats! Daycare dogs will receive "All Natural" biscuits! We only believe in having high quality treats to offer your dog.
What are your boarding and day care requirements?
The safety and health of your pet is our first concern. Our boarding and daycare contract includes a personality profile so we can have some basic information about your dog's temperament and match him/her with the right playmates.
All dogs in daycare must demonstrate adequate social skills and the ability to play safely. On the first stay at Dogtown, we will evaluate your dog's interactions with other guests. If we find your dog isn't daycare friendly, we will place him in his room/crate for the remainder of the day, except for personal walking sessions. (not sure if you want to change him to him/her or make it generic above)
Prior to boarding and daycare, you must provide proof of the following vaccinations from your vet:
- Bordetella - within the past 6 months
- Parvovirus & Distemper- within the past 12 months
- Rabies - proof of valid vaccination with either the shot given annually or every 3 years
We also require that your dog be on a regular flea and tick prevention program, such as Frontline or Advantage (not flea powder or collars). For full terms and conditions, review the Austin Dogtown contract.
Do you administer medications?
Yes. We administer medications (pills, ointments, etc.) on a case-by-case basis. Just provide the medication and instructions on drop off. If your dog has had a recent medical issue, we will require a release from your vet before being allowed back into day care or boarding.

Can I tour your facility?
Absolutely. Please call us to arrange an appointment to view our facilities. We want you to be comfortable with your dog's stay at Austin Dogtown!
What is your cancellation policy?
Our non-holiday policy requires 48 hours notice for canceling a boarding reservation and 24 hours notice for daycare. During busy holiday periods, we require five (5) days notice. If these guidelines are not met, additional fees will apply.
How do I make a reservation?
Call us at 512-535-4244 or email info@dogtownaustin.com to schedule your initial interview and daycare or boarding reservation. If your dog hasn't stayed with us before, we can fax or email you a copy of our enrollment documentation for your review and completion. Bring the completed, signed paperwork and vaccination records with you when you drop off your pet (or beforehand) to expedite check-in.
